So true. They'd be very upset to hear how fans are being taken advantage of. I mean, I am sure they know about this stuff already, but I guess there's really very little they can do about it. It's just too bad that people like Steve Rennie and others in the Incubus organization can't monitor the selling of tickets more closely to make sure this sort of stuff doesn't happen so freely. And it would have helped if they'd gotten their act together on this whole pre-sale thing. They and Sony/The Incubus Store! I can't believe I bought the CD so far in advance only to not ever be told about the date of the actual pre-sale. I can't believe I had to find out purely by chance. That's ridiculous.
She might be working, yes. That's a definite possibility. Wow, she is going to be upset when she finds out what's been going on tonight!
You know, somebody on the blog mentioned how many tix StubHub is selling, and she is right. I just checked and they have huge numbers of seats available-- for really insane prices in some cases. It seems that ordinary ticket buyers just can't beat the system! There are always behind the scenes things going on, blocks of seats bought up by scalpers, etc. I always wonder how those front row seats are gotten! Never by me, that's for sure! lol
Omg, I don't know where she is!! This is the second night in a row where I am ready to have a heart attack because I can't get hold of her! Left her message in her HQ inbox, texted her, and left her a voice message. She is going to be so pissed when she finds out what has been going on. I am really angry about it too. I mean, wtf?? Really! I don't think I have ever seen anything so badly handled. The icing on the cake is Lauren suddenly saying, out of the blue, ok guys, the NY/NJ pre-sale is happening... NOW! How can they pull that sort of crap on people? that is so unfair. What if you were planning to buy tix tomorrow morning and you were out tonight? You'd get home and find out that the best seats were long gone. And those seats in D that I just found are going FAST.
Well, see, that's the thing-- I'm not sure that they aren't better. There are some seats in the D section behind wheelchair access seats, which means nobody standing up and blocking you. I'm wondering if I should buy seats there, even though they are not together, which sucks. (and yeah, I want to think positive too, but just in case... it's great to have good seats now. Where are yours as of now?
You're welcome! And I know-- I can't believe how seriously they have fucked everything up! I posted to the blog as soon as I figured out that the Sony pre-sale was today. I noticed this LAST NIGHT and was frantically (and unsuccessfully!) trying to get hold of Christine all evening! I am so glad she then alerted you too! I hoped to help everybody out in our area by posting the info this morning. I am so pissed! And I have just found out that rather than have the HQ pre-sale tomorrow, as we were told originally, now it's starting in ONE MINUTE. And I don't think Christine knows! But we were going to try for better seats tomorrow!
Where are your seats at Jones Beach as of now? Ours are in the orchestra, the A section, row S on the aisle. Not bad at all, as long as no really tall people are in front of us!
Venice Beach, yeah! Excellent idea. Or really, anywhere that is a beautiful natural setting. I get the sense that anything like that would be really appreciated, and I don't just mean the fact that you'd be presenting them with a gift of art. I think they'd really dig it for what it conveys, you know?
Do you do anything other than portraiture? Anything abstract, or maybe landscapes? I was thinking if you wanted to show them how talented you are and have it be something different from last time, you could consider changing it up a little. Maybe focus on a favorite place, something that has very personal or spiritual value for you. I think that would really speak to them, especially somebody like Brandon.
I know! I'm jealous too! But you met them already, didn't you, at the meet and greet on the last tour. So I'm jealous of you too! LOL
Can't wait to find out where the NYC-area venue is going to be on the upcoming tour. I'm hoping for RC again, or maybe the Beacon Theatre. What an amazing place, that would be so cool. Oh, and about that drawing of Brandon-- I commend you for such an original approach! It really is such a spectacular piece of artwork. Totally captures the moment and Brandon's passion for singing!
Thanks, it's great to be back in touch with everybody! :-) New pic of Mikey? I will look for it! Whoa... that b & w one is amazing. Actually, all your stuff is. Love the one of Mike with the checked shirt! And the one of Brandon singing so passionately. (come to think of it, that's not the best way to describe him, since he always looks that way when he sings! LOL) I mean the one where his hands are cupping the mic and he almost looks prayerful, eyes closed and totally carried away. You've got quite a talent!
I'm good! Busy with school (the semester is almost over, yay!) and various projects I'm working on. Doing a lot of creative writing lately. Christine told me about this new Incubus site today. It looks great. Things seem really pretty dead over at EI. Haven't posted on there in ages. Just heard about the upcoming tour for the new album-- CAN'T WAIT!!!
