'Weekly' Update #15 For ... a Lot of Time Up To July 17th
Incubus Land has been a busy place for the last few weeks--so busy that a few of our old, good habits fell by the wayside. The Weekly Update became a brief but sincerely unfortunate casualty of all the wonderful chaos that surrounded the week of HQLive and the album release. For this, we can only offer apologies, but we’re getting back on track now. The following update is not exactly weekly and will probably be a bit long, but hopefully it will touch on all the amazing things that have been happening lately.
After a few private shows played in the storefront on La Brea as warm-ups, June 30th saw the official opening of Incubus’ HQLive. The experience was, to say the least, overwhelming. For an entire week, Incubus offered fans an unprecedented amount of access to them, with a total of six exclusive, free shows, musicians clinics, and quesiton-and-answer sessions. While the shows at the store in La Brea are over now, clips from the performances and the programming can be found here: http://www.youtube.com/incubustv Incubus’ new merchandise line was also unveiled at HQLive, and is now available for purchase online here: http://incubus.shop.bravadousa.com/?src=NEWS114058
Shortly after HQLive, the band left for New York for a series of shows in NYC. While the planned rooftop VEVO show was unfortunately undermined by bad weather, Incubus did perform a private show at the Soho Apple Store as well as on Late Night with David Letterman. The Letterman performance was recorded and can be found here: http://www.cbs.com/late_night/liveonletterman/incubus/video/
After the Letterman performance, the band returned to Southern California to play a pair of shows in the area, at the Santa Barbara Bowl and at San Diego’s 91XFEST at the Cricket Wireless Ampitheatre. The shows were both excellent, electric shows, and the band dusted off a few old favorites which Steve Rennie has since been generous enough to share with the fans. The official release of If Not Now, When?, Incubus’ sixth studio album, was of course on July 12th. Since the street date for the album, there has been a great deal of interviews and publicity featuring the band. Incubus is MTV.com’s Posted artist of the month, and has been featured already in a great many magazine and television interviews. Some of the highlights can be found here:

During the last few weeks, Incubus also announced the Meet and Greet packages for the US Tour, information on which can be found here in full detail: http://incubushq.com/profiles/blogs/make-yourself-foundation-meet-1 In addition, Incubus has added a Formspring account, which can be accessed via the widget on the Home page of Incubus HQ, and unveiled ‘Incubattle’, a classic side-scrolling 8-bit game in which you can take on the roll of one of the boys in the band to punch music pirates in the face for great justice. There are many more things coming up! The fun has just begun. This week Incubus leaves to kick off their Pacific Rim tour, starting on Saturday, July 23rd in Kuala Lumpur.
