Weekly Update #10 for Week of May 15th-21st

The ball is still rolling for Incubus and the Incubus World Headquarters.  Big things have been happening each week, and this week was no exception to the rule; the band and its team remain in an unprecedented amount of contact with fans around the world, bringing the best Incubus has to offer to its fanbase.

On Monday fans attending the Morning Briefing on Incubus’ Livestream channel ( http://www.livestream.com/incubusworldheadquarters ) were treated to a one time only sneak preview of the studio version of Surface to Air.  The fully polished and beautifully fresh Mp3 has been confirmed to be part of a incentive bundle offered to those fans who have pre-ordered the album and that it will be available along with the digital format download of the album on Tuesday, July 12th.  This will be the only way that Surface to Air will be made available for most markets, so those fans interested in acquiring the otherwise unreleased song should make sure they have preorderd at http://www.enjoyincubus.com

Tuesday the band released a puzzle which sent fans on a scavanger hunt across the internet, introducing them to numerous articles and interviews the band has done in promotion of the new album.  The culmination of this was the reveal of the album art, which can still be found here for those interested:  http://albumpuzzle.enjoyincubus.com/

Renman shared some merchandising options with the fans on Livestream on Wednesday’s Morning Briefing.  There were twenty-six pages of merchandise options, which ranged from shirts of all kinds and colors to skateboard decks, candles, bags, and even a slap bracelet concept.  The recording of the briefing, with all of the merchandise concepts, can be found here: http://www.livestream.com/incubusworldheadquarters/video?clipId=pla... The team would like to know fans’ reaction to the merchandise offers to make sure that the most popular items can be offered at venues across the world, so please visit this thread and leave your thoughts: http://incubushq.com/forum/topics/merchandising-suggestions

Mike Einziger also took some time out to speak with fans in Malaysia as part of an event hosted by the concert promoter, in which he Skyped into a question and answer session much like the videochats that have been held on the World Headquarters.  The recording of the Skype session can be found here: http://incubushq.com/video/tune-talks-with-incubus

Thursday revealed more information about a secret project that the band has been working on for the Los Angeles area for some weeks.  Dubbed ‘HQ Live’ by Steve Rennie, Incubus and their team have rented out some space somewhere in Los Angeles and begun converting it from an empty building to their own personal space, which will be used for many things in the month of June and the week of July leading up to the album release.  HQ Live will be used as the band’s rehearsal space as they gear up for the upcoming album tour, but it will also host a place where the fans can come and interact with the band and their team.  There will be a physical retail store where merchandise can be purchased, as well as drum clinics, autograph sessions, DJ lessons and private ‘mini-concerts’ for invite-only audiences.  The entire building will be wired for sound and with webcams so that every detail of this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity can be recorded and shared with fans around the world via Incubus World Headquarters.  The activity in HQ Live will culminate at the end of the June with an entire week of events from June 30th to July 6th; invites to these very special events will be very exclusive, and only fans at the Incubus World Headquarters have a chance to find themselves on the list.

The hand-written score for Promises, Promises went up for auction on eBay on Friday.  Featuring twenty hours of painstaking work from Mike Einziger to put in the entire score, as well as hand-written lyrics from Brandon Boyd and an original piece of artwork from Jose Pasillas, the score has been bound in leather and signed by the entire band.  The auction runs a week from its open, so bidding will close on May 27th, and proceeds from the auction will go to the Japanese Red Cross to support the Tsunami Relief efforts.  The auction itself can be found here: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=200610207493...

The Billboard Magazine containing a publicity shot with Incubus was released this week, and on Saturday a video was also released on the Billboard site.  The band speaks about Las Vegas as a venue and about their work on If Not Now, When? in the short video, which can be found here, courtsey of Billboard Magazine: http://www.billboard.com/features/las-vegas-spotlight-incubus-10051...

As always, the days are full to the brim of groundbreaking opportunities for Incubus fans and the Incubus World Headquarters remains the best place to get access to these opportunities.  As the tour approaches, dates will be announced and presales will be held, all happening at the World HQ before they happen anywhere else.  Join up, be connected, and enjoy Incubus.

Whats the pre-sale code for the Santa Barbara concert on July 15?

My boyfriend made a terrible joke a couple days ago. I said 'when are these tickets going to go on sale!?' and he said 'I don't know... if now now, when?'

He apologised straight afterwards.

SO EXCITED! I'm going to be gutted if we can't get any! It'll have to be an impromtu trip to Europe if not!

Keep up the good work!

...Although I have mixed feelings about the whole "interacting with this exclusive celebrity band" thing going on the following month. It kinda feels like they are doing "charity work" for us while at the same time participating in a "mini-reality show" for us. Not my cup of tea...
