Ok so I was thinking about how the new album should be released, in what forms and what would each form offer to make it unique and fruitful in terms of marketing.
So as I said, every format should offer something new and these are my ideas:
Digital Version: Download from iTunes (iTunes LP would be awesome)/Amazon
It gives you a unique discount code to buy the physical normal CD copy or the ultimate vinyl edition.
CD Copy. Buy in Music Stores/Amazon
Access to the Vault (put new things into the vault) (Obviusly from here you can get tour edition, Japan edition, whatever edition you want in the necessary country according to the market movement or whatever) + Discount code to buy the vinyl edition.
Vinyl edition Buy in Music Stores/Amazon - for the audio quality lovers and hardcore fans . –
Access to the vault, download digital copy from iTunes.
Ultimate Vinyl edition. –
Includes the album in vinyl, a cardboard sleeve with the CD copy, a code to download the entire Concert for the Miners in HD, a download code to get the digital version from iTunes/amazon.
*IF the band/Sony release the entire album catalog on vinyl, the Ultimate Vinyl edition should give you a discount code for that too.
---
It might sound crazy, but I'd like to know your opinions about these ideas, and, how much would you pay for every edition?

Comment by nicole jansen on March 23, 2011 at 11:34am personally I am still a CD person- there's something to be said for actually holding the music in my hand and not trusting it to be lost in cyberspace so I would purchase the CD...usually Best Buy does new releases around $9.99 then I will copy it to my I-tunes to take along w/ me wherever while the cd stays safe at home in my locked and humidity vault (jk)
I do like the vinyl also but only collect old records of classic rock artists since the artwork is so good.
changing the subject a bit- I would love the opportunity to own/purchase some of Brandon's artwork, not a copy but an original piece.
