Incufest is a virtual festival in celebration of all things related to the band Incubus.
When does Incufest begin?
Incufest begins at 11 a.m. Eastern Daylight Time (New York time) on Sunday, April 21, 2013. We expect attendees from all around the world, so most people will be popping in and out throughout the 6-day festival as their work, school, and sleep schedules permit. Here's a handy time zone converter for those who live in other areas.
How do I attend Incufest?
Incufest will be happening primarily on Twitter. To take part, all you have to do is tweet about Incubus, and be sure to include the hashtag #Incufest in all of your tweets. Then, you can use Twitter's search engine (or other Twitter search tool such as Twitterfall or Monitter) to search for the hashtag to see what everyone is tweeting. As long as you remember to use the hashtag, your tweets will become part of the global conversation!
What's going to happen at Incufest? Can a virtual festival really be fun?
We don't know what will happen, but we've put together a suggested schedule so that each day will have a different focus. Feel free, though, to tweet about anything Incubus-related at any time. There really aren't any rules, except to have fun! And we WILL have a blast, if our previous Incubus parties are any indication! :-)
Do I have to be following the other people at Incufest to see their tweets?
No. By using a Twitter search tool to search for the hashtag #Incufest, you'll be able to see all the tweets that contain this hashtag, even if they're coming from people you're not following.
Why 6 days? Will the festival really last that long?
We couldn't decide between having a Twitter party on 4/21 (Incubus Day), or on 4/26 (drummer José Pasillas' birthday), so someone suggested a multi-day festival spanning the two dates. We don't know if we can really make it last 6 days, but we're going to try. Like any party, we expect the pace to slow and then pick up again at various times.
Who is organizing Incufest? Is anyone in Incubus involved?
Incufest is being organized entirely by fans from several countries around the world. No one associated with the band is involved, but we hope some of them will stop by! We plan to tweet the band members and manager to invite them to join us. Bassist Ben Kenney favorited a bunch of our tweets during our last party, so we know we were on his radar, at least for a few minutes. Hopefully we can make something like that happen again!
