Edit: There is a plan for consolidating the groups so that the management team can easily reach all of you when they need to. I will be going through over the next few days to make the groups fall in line with the naming structure, which should look like this:
Incubus LocationName so for example Incubus Los Angeles or Incubus Malaysia are examples of groups that are correctly named.
This means that some groups will be broken down into smaller groups, renamed, or merged into other groups. If you want to make sure you are going to get the emails about offers from the band's team, make sure you are in the group labeled as I indicated above. By the time I'm done the only groups with that naming pattern will be groups that will be getting the emails, so you can know when you're signed up for notifications for your area. Of course, feel free to sign up for multiple groups!
Hello, Incufans, Incufriends, and Incufamily!
We've noticed a little bit of a problem with the groups here in HQ--namely, there's so many of them! We're starting to get duplicate groups, which is beginning to be a problem for contests like the Show Incubus Around Your Town contest or for emailing presale codes to members in local groups. To this end, we're making a couple of changes to the groups.
First and foremost, fans can still create groups but they must be approved by a moderator before the group can go live. If your group is denied, it is because there already exists a group like the one you're trying to create, and we're trying to cut down on the amount of duplicate groups there are to confuse people. Hopefully this will cut down on the confusion and make the process of getting special offers from HQ a little more painless.
To that end, I will be going through the groups over the next few days and locating duplicate groups. I will work with the group owners of any groups that are doubled up to merge the groups and close one of them down, so that all members of both groups can receive the same benefits. This will make life a lot easier for the moderation team and the band's team, and help ensure that nobody falls through the cracks or gets left behind. If you are a group owner please be on the lookout for a potential message from me in your inbox over the next few days.
Lastly, there have been a lot of people with concerns about not receiving emails from groups they are already in. This is usually because of user settings. To make sure you are getting emails from your groups, you need to go to 'Settings' and then 'Email'. Scroll down to the section labeled 'Incubus World Headquarters' and you should see something that looks like this:
