  • Videos should be between two to three minutes and length.
  • Videos should be in English.
  • Videos should be clearly marked as to which clinic it is an audition for: the guitar clinic, the drum clinic, or the DJ clinic.

(Sorry for the many posts! My computer is acting weird!)

My name is Brian Pots, i'm 19 years old and I live in Holland. I'm playing guitar for like 5 years I guess.
A couple of years ago, a friend of mine introduced me to incubus, they have been my favorite band ever since.
I know every song by them and can't think of one which I don't like.
I get alot of inspiration from their music, which you can clearly hear in a few of my own songs.

The sounds and riffs Mike creates are one of the most beautiful things I have ever heard. Mike and Incubus are a big inspiration for me.
The thing I like about Mike is that he knows to touch you by every single note. Like almost every guitarist I like to jam on some bluestracks and fool around with some solo's.
But the thing I like the most about playing the guitar is to write a song with a composition which pulls you inside a dreamlike world.
And I think Incubus is the best at it. That's what my video is based on.

I have already learned so much from Mike's guitarplaying, but it would be a dream coming true if I get to meet him and he would teach me stuff face to face.
So please pick me, because I'm willing to travel to America for this!
Thanks Incubus for this great opportunity and I hope to see you soon!

Hi, I'm Jorge from Mexico. Incubus is my favorite band and Mike is at the top of my influences as a musician, I love the way he understands music, Ithink is very similar to the way i do.

Id love to be a winner cause i dont want to play exactly like Mike, I want to take everything i can from him and analize it, twist it, transform it and mix it with MY sound. Oh and, yeah! I can be there for the clinic in time.

What time today do we have until? Does the video itself have to have "why you think you should be chosen for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity" or can we just write it in the comment section?

Hi my name is Daniel Schüßler, 39 years old/young. I'm playing guitar for about 25 years now. Usually I prefer the electric one (No.1: Hohner "the Jack" - headless), but for this session I used the Dobro. Playing with my father in law is always great fun, ... I bet it'll be a great fun to play along with you. That's why I'm applying for the Mike Einziger's Guitar Clinic :) best wishes from Germany, yours Daniel

Comment by Mark Getrost on June 24, 2011 at 9:59am

Hello, my name is Mark Getrost. I'm 15 years old, live in Simi Valley, CA, and I'm auditioning for Mike Einziger's guitar clinic.

My passion in life is to write and play music. I started playing drums when I was in 2nd Grade, and picked up guitar when I was in middle school. At the moment, I write songs and james like you see here.

I was first introduced to Incubus when I was 8 years old. My older brother, Kyle, showed me the drum solo in the middle of "Vitamin" on the Alive At Red Rocks DVD, and I was blown away. After seeing that, I watched the DVD over and over again. Since then, I've been to 2 Incubus shows here in LA. The one thing I love most about Incubus is that they have a wide range of music that fits any occasion.

Mike, you're my favorite guitarist. It would be a dream of mine to meet you, and learn from you. The thing I would like to learn most from you is how you use your training in classical music composition and apply it to your rock music. Thank you for the opportunity. Hopefully I'll be seeing you soon!
