Tour Guide Contest ***EDITED 09/25/11***

This contest has been cancelled. Please read this blog post for further information:

Those HQ members who are lucky enough to win the contest should contact me after the show and I will make sure you receive a digital copy of your Meet and Greet photos!

Hi, everyone! We've had some great submissions for the Tour Guide contest already, and I want to thank everyone who's participated so far. We appreciate the time and effort put into it.

Going forward, I'd like to change the way the videos are submitted to make it easier for us (especially Renman) to find them. THIS IS IMPORTANT, SO READ CAREFULLY.

  1. Upload your video to either Incubus HQ or Youtube. If you upload to Incubus HQ, tag it 'tourguide'.
  2. Include your video link in a comment to this post, and not any other post.
  3. Your video should be in English and no more than 4 minutes in length.
  4. CLEARLY STATE both your REAL NAME and the CITY YOU WISH TO BE CONSIDERED FOR in your comment.
  5. Do not comment with just the link to your video, do not comment to the other threads, do not submit your video for more than one venue.

Bear with us while we try to make this as easy and painless as possible; Ren has asked me specifically to remind everyone that if the above, simple instructions aren't followed, there is "no crying allowed after the fact" if your video gets missed in the shuffle.

Please let me know if you have any questions, and good luck!

I still don't have any more information to give you guys, I'm really sorry. There is apparently going to be a 'huge announcement' related to Incubus on the local Los Angeles radio station 98.7 tomorrow morning at 7am PST, I am hoping after that we might return to normalcy.

...And I also don't think it is fair at all that we are all receiving no feedback what so ever. At least tell us all the contest is over right?

I am just so upset from all of this :( Meeting Incubus would honestly be the greatest most memorable day of my life. I saw Incubus twice within this week and meeting them after the show would have made the experience the perfect package. Yes, of course I am sure we all had an awesome and amazing time at the concert, but just imagine what it would be like to meet the Brandon, Mikey, Jose, Kilmore, and Jose. It would truly be a dream come true for all of us. There has to be something we could all do to receive recogntion for our efforts with the contest. Just think about it... who knows when they will ever be near the East Coast again soon :(

I agree with everyone that patience is needed. I was one of the first people to post that it has to be a mix up and that it was not on purpose.  The thing that gets me is there has been no explanation and no apologies. Which is totally uncharacteristic of this group of people, there has been no messages from Ren, no information from Lauren and seemingly nothing mentioned by the band.  It would seem appropriate to just say look this is what's going on and this is what is going to happen.  It's like working your ass off on some big report for a teacher and then the teacher never grades it and never mentions anything about it.

I empathize with all the mixed emotions everyone is feeling about the contest and I know we're all a bit disappointed but once you see Incubus you'll be so immersed in those fleeting 2 hours that nothing will stop you from enjoying yourself. That said, I know all of our hard work was not in vain. Patience is key. Have fun everyone :)
