OTHER EDIT:
Those HQ members who are lucky enough to win the contest should contact me after the show and I will make sure you receive a digital copy of your Meet and Greet photos!
EDIT:
Hi, everyone! We've had some great submissions for the Tour Guide contest already, and I want to thank everyone who's participated so far. We appreciate the time and effort put into it.
Going forward, I'd like to change the way the videos are submitted to make it easier for us (especially Renman) to find them. THIS IS IMPORTANT, SO READ CAREFULLY.
Bear with us while we try to make this as easy and painless as possible; Ren has asked me specifically to remind everyone that if the above, simple instructions aren't followed, there is "no crying allowed after the fact" if your video gets missed in the shuffle.
Please let me know if you have any questions, and good luck!

Comment by DJ Pearlman on September 5, 2011 at 1:52pm I too want to chime in with my sympathies for the entrants in all of the “no-winner” contests. I am one of those myself (Jones Beach, NY) and it was certainly frustrating.
@Kyle, while I’m sure you’re right about staying positive, it really isn’t the same thing to have no winner chosen as it is to simply not win; the latter at least offers you some resolution. As @Kirsten says, she sat around “ALL DAY” waiting, and even @Lauren acknowledged that the “unknowing must be horrible”... and she’s right. I think everyone here could get over not winning the power-ball lottery, but I think everyone would be pissed if they bought their tickets, and the lottery commission simply didn’t have the drawing. And sorry to be down on Kyle about this, but I’ve been in a band for years, nowhere near the Incubus level, but big enough that we’ve sponsored “fan trivia” contests, and “fan video” contests, and it would never even occur to me to not pick a winner. At our level, every fan matters, yes, radio interviews and meet & greets are important, but the true fan that comes to every local show, that buys every record, that wants you to autograph anything at all is what you always need to care about… and I bet you won’t find any person on this thread that isn’t that true fan. and they are more important than everything else you mentioned.
The funny part is that I bet given the type of band Incubus is, the type of people they employ and the type of fan they seem to have, if someone simply said “Listen, we’re swamped and simply can’t get this tour guide contest to work out. We’re sorry.” I bet most of the people here would have been OK with it, I know I would have.

Comment by Mollee on September 5, 2011 at 9:18am Wow, pretty cruel to do this to fans. Make them sit around waiting for an email or announcement that never comes for an officially run, band sponsored contest, on the day of the show? I'd be furious.
I'd also be questioning why tickets from the reserved block of Incubus VIP seating was available in the PNC box office the night of the show, at $105 a ticket. Makes you wonder who is making extra pocket money off of not picking winners.
Comment by Kirsten Spruch on September 5, 2011 at 6:49am Fortunately I bought regular tickets during the presale. However, I am extremely disappointed. I think I speak for most people here when I say that I put A LOT of time and effort into making this video, and for you to just not pick a winner because of your lack of communication and organization is completely unfair. I understand your team and Incubus is very busy but if you really can’t handle a contest as simple as this one, then don’t make it in the first place. I made sure to have my entry in a week in advance just as you asked, and for you to not even announce the winner not even a day before the show, not even at all is extremely frustrating. Have you ever thought about the inconvenience for us? Some people were flying in, others had friends waiting, etc. It’s just not right how you only announce winners for some venues and not all. I sat around waiting ALL DAY yesterday with anger, disappointment, and stress. I thought this was a great contest until you decided to ditch it. All the fans here who have entered are awesome people and definitely do not deserve this treatment. I feel like I was completely blown off. This is deception. Incubus is still one of my favorite bands, but they sure don’t live up to their “Promises, Promises.”
