Mine was Aerosmith at Cobo Hall, Detroit in 1983, I was 16.
Wow that's pretty funny Rebecca the first show I saw on my own with no parental guidance was Aerosmith and Ted Nugent at MSG in 86'.  Was on the "Done With Mirrors" Tour which I think was their last good album - used to love them but they lost me with the "Pump" and "Permanent Vacation" stuff. What I will always remember is my dad buying us beers for the train ride in which was SO cool because we were like 15 years old and my parents were actually really strict...
Styx Mr Roboto... and yes, i was in 8th grade and it was my first time smelling weed too. ha!
I think my very 1st concert was a really cool benefit concert, the 1975 Bay Area 'S.N.A.C.K.' in SF at the old Kezar Stadium, on 3/23/75 to benefit sports in the SF highschools.  I guess they were thinking of doing away with sports due to $$$, so they got together with Santana, Neil Young, Bob Dylan, Joan Baez, Doobie Bros., Jefferson Starship, Grateful Dead -  it was so awesome! I felt so 'hip' lol!  (I Googled it, and surprisingly, I found it at 'Wolfgang's Vault' website; i love the internet)

The Police at Obras Sanitarias Stadium in 1980, December 4,In Buenos Aires,Argentina .I was sixteen .  Unforgettable!!! Awesome !!!! ♥♥♥

1971- John Sebastian (Woodstock original and former Lovin' Spoonful frontman) at Blossom Music Center near Akron, Ohio. Still going strong 40 yrs later :-)

Hello everyone! My first big concert was 1991 David Lee Roth : Helsinki Finland... i do remember it was fun and people were drunk, i wasn't because i was too excited. Hmmm... :)

These are some concerts that I saw with my husband  or others in the late 70's & 8o's; obviously not 1st's but excellent nevertheless:

Pink Floyd-Animals Tour-Oakland Coliseum

Genesis - (with Phil Collins) but not sure which tour, but he did a drum 'duet' with Chester Thompson, OMG-incredible! Winterland-SF

Todd Rundgren- RA Tour Winterland-SF

Paul McCartney & Wings - Live and Let Die-Cow Palace-SF

Cat Stevens-Foreigner Tour-Cow Palace-SF

That's all this old brain can recall for now.......

I think my first gig was Mott the Hoople in around 1970.  Probably at St Georges Hall, Bradford. I saw Genesis with Peter Gabrial there too in the early 70s.  They were gigging the Foxtrot album and were 3rd on the bill. Lindisfarne topped it. I saw Yes, Gentle Giant, Greenslade, Wishbone Ash, Deep Purple and Hawkwind too. I think tickets were around £2. The same as an album. Now I share my money between Incubus 3 times this year and The South (formerly Beautiful South) who I hope to see twice this next weekend bringing up 4 in the year. But i see loads of local bands at pubs free of charge.  i also follow Incufriends bands such as Virgin Soldiers.  I recommend them and Bad Pollyanna as different and up and coming!  I love innovative and thought provoking music and lyrics. I also like to bounce a lot! ;-)
