When did you first become aware/ hear of Incubus?

For me it was an ex boyfriend who first had me truly listen to Incubus four years ago. I wasn't much into rock music, but heard a song here and there. As we spent more and more time together, I got more and more itno Incubus. One of 2 great gifts my ex has given me. Lovez it!

Year 2000
2002 :)
Either 98 or 99 when I heard New Skin on the radio.  After that I got SCIENCE and listened to it every night before bed.
Morning View came out the year i had my daughter and we both found it very soothing when she was unhappy i have been a fan ever since

I first became aware of Incubus when Make Yourself came out. I liked Stellar, Drive, and Pardon Me. Had to listen to them every time they were on the radio. Unfortunately, this still holds true today, I'm horrible at remembering names. The fact that I know basically know the name of every Incubus song further proves how much I love the band lol. The way that I really got to them seemed to be purely by accident at the time. I was looking for a song that I didn't know the name of and I also didn't know the band that made the song. So, I bought two cd's, in hopes that one of them had that song on the radio that I liked.

Needless to say, neither one of them had the song I was looking for. Make Yourself was one of the albums that I bought. I found out that I knew a few Incubus songs and didn't even realize it lol. It took time for me to get into the rest of the cd though. I really wasn't used to music that didn't start have singing in it withing the first few seconds lol. At the time, it felt like it took FOREVER to get to the singing. Fortunately, my mom listened to all sorts of music in the car when we would go places. So, I kept an open mind and listened to the album all the way through a few times. I fell in love with them and bought Fungus Amongus and Science as quickly as I could.

Well, like I said on another thread it was 2000 I was in 8th grade and crushing really hard on this guy who was a sophomore in high school. We became close friends since we had virtually the exact same taste in music. So one day he lent me a mix tape (LOL yes, a tape) with a lot of cool songs in it. While I was listening to it, it was around 9.30pm and I was in my bed ready for bed, I came across to this amazing melody and voice. I was in awe, I couldn't believe how beautiful this was. So the next day I asked him and he told me it was this band from the US called Incubus. That's when my obsession started.
i first got into them from a friend of mine when i was like a frosh or soph in hs somewhere from 98-2000. i was hooked on make yourself and when morning view came out i pretty much knew i was in it for the long haul lol. i was a total metalhead then and still like some metal but incubus really opened my eyes and ears into something more. so much so that it spawned off to other bands similar and not, but not heavy metal like. 311, afi, chevelle, linkin park, etc. i first saw them on the last traveling lollapalooza in 2003 in chicago along with audioslave and queens of the stone age. ben had just joined and they played megalomaniac as their 'new and unfinished' song at the time lol. im very happy to say that they changed me for the better and ill never look back. my entire left arm is nothing but a giant incubus collage of tattoos now lol......dont ever let life pass you by.......
You know what's funny? Your last phrase is how I've been living my life as of late, and the more I do, the more I get into Incubus.

This was around 2001, 2002. I was about 7 or 8 years old and I was on a family roadtrip with my parents, older brother and 2 sisters. My brother brought his discman along and he had a mix CD of some of his current favourite songs. Trying to endure the painstakingly long drive I begged my brother to let me listen to his discman just one time. He reluctantly agreed. I started listening to the first couple tracks and nothing piqued my interest. I started flying through every track trying to find at least one song that I liked. Flipped to the next track...BAM! "A Certain Shade of Green". That opening riff had me hooked right away, in fact, I remember restarting the track every 10 seconds just to hear that opening riff over and over and over again! My brother said something like, "You know, you're gonna wear that song out and get sick of it if you keep listening to it like that". XD

He realized I really liked Incubus, so he bought me Morning View for my birthday the next year. To this day it remains my all-time favourite album, by my all-time favourite band :)

2002!

my last year in highschool!

i first listened just a phase, then drive, circles and BANG!
