Opinions of If Not Now, When?
I'm wondering if anyone else on here has heard the full album, and what your opinions are. Here's mine:
Its probably my least favorite. I just don't feel like the music evolved from Light Grenades, musically or lyrically. The music on this record is much more methodical and less spontaneous. I think what made me like Incubus in the first place was that their songs chronicled the everyday human experience. A good example of that are songs like "11 AM" and "Here In My Room", but I just don't hear that in this new album. Not liking it at all. Best song, in my opinion, is "Isadore".

I think this album isn't their best.I liked what they have become listening to "light grenades".It was a very good album,maybe their best,musically speaking.So i expected a great album.Instead we have a bit boring album that isn't studied as light grenades or other works incubus have done.It hasn't got the energy,the verve,the emotions of the other albums.Incubus has ever done slow and sweet songs but they were great!I like some songs of INN,W? .In the company of wolves is the best,it's the most alternative,what do you expect by Incubus.All the songs could be played by every band in the world and this is the biggest defect of the album.It's clear what they wanted to do with this album.The wanted to excite the fans(and i have seen a lot of girls so!) so they did not pay attention to musical aspect.That is my opinion.I repeat I don't dislike totally this album but it's nothing special.The rockest song of the album is Switchblade but it is extremely monotonous!They could do something better,they're great musicians.I read some reviews and there a some negative,some positives,but the most part say INN,W? is nothing special,boring.
P.S promises,promises is terrible!I don't understand the lyrics because my english is not so good!But the music is horrible!

I've only heard it on HQLive but I really like Thieves and Switchblade based on a first listen, Promises, Promises is growing on me, not too sure about the rest. I'm definitely going to buy it, they're one of the few bands whose music I blindly buy, and sometimes once an album marinates it starts to strike more of a chord with me so I want to give it more of a chance before I truly make a decision. Can't wait!

Switchblade as they did on HQ Live is incredible!In the Album is not so good.Thieves is one of my favorites!

So very dissapointed with this album !!
5 year wait for this ??
As above I usually "buy blind" with Incubus but now I've heard it a few times I won't be buying a hard copy.
Seems just like a batch of B sides .....or songs that didn't make Brandon's solo album !!
I usually share my Incubus music with friends ....basically make them listen to Incubus but in this case I reckon I will just keep it to myself and hope nobody asks me about it.
Crazy , I actually loved Light Grenades and expected so much from this album .
Where are the melodies and Mike's riffs ?
Lyrics aren't great either , sounds as though Brandon struggled this time maybe the music didn't inspire him enough ?

I'm listening to the new album now and have been all day- I really like it, musically it's gorgeous- i'm loving the melodies Brandon is singing, his voice sounds great and it seems there is a lot of thought put into this album. I love 'The Original' and 'If not now, when?'...and 'switchblade'...heck i like the whole thing! It's a depart from the harder stuff but I think that can be expected when you want to explore new areas...i say good job guys!

Well .......it's growing on me a little .....but should/could have been so much better IMHO
Rebel Girls is one of the highlights for me although I'd have to disagree about Switchblade ...it's appalling .

It's grown on me. I was disappointed at first but now I love it. It's definitely not their best but it's still great.

I hated this album.Then I've listened it a lot of times and I can say It's quite good.But not great as the other albums they've done.I can't love it cos there are some disappointing songs.Promises,promises is horrible,Friends and lovers it's monotonous and too simple,Switchblade it's the rockest but it's monotonous too!They could write it as they have done live,one minute longer,with drums and guitar lines as incubus have always done.So sufficient album,definitly.With Surface to air it could be better(the studio version is really good,the recording is totally different than the whole album) .I don't like those who say "you're not a true incubus fan cos you don't enjoy the new album".I think these people are not true fans cos they would like even incubus doing Lady gaga music!So i have love and respect for this band and this doesn't change!But they can do more...
