Incubus is planning a week of events here in Los Angeles to celebrate the release of their new album "If Not Now, When?". And all kinds of things are going to be happening, from chats with the band, musician's clinics, behind the scenes look at the tour prep, and most of all some very special performances from the band from June 30-July 6...Six performances in all and all of it is going to be broadcast live on the internet. But for a lucky few, you can be part of the live in studio audience. Only 75 people can attend each performance so these invites will be highly in demand. Tickets are not being sold for these events. Its invite only and we can't figure out who to invite. That's where you come in. Give us some ideas of how we can pick the list. Think out of the box and think about how we can give everybody who'd like to be there a fair shot. Think about how we can involve fans not just from LA but also Incubus fans in the US and internationally as well. We will be keeping an eye out for great ideas and look forward to seeing the most deserving fans sitting on the couch that week.

Permalink Reply by Sarahh (SHAFT!) on July 6, 2011 at 5:09pm I just got back from the HQ and didn't win a pass for tonight. LAME.They are doing the new album in it's entirety tonight.
Ben did come out and chat with everyone and play a song, then they tossed everyone right out at 2pm so Incubus could do an interview. Oh well.
I have 3 Incubus shows ahead of me this summer, so I'm still a happy camper :)

Permalink Reply by Tuchi on July 7, 2011 at 1:12am The shows were great. I got in but let's face it there were people in that show that were there more than 3 times. There would be some in the 1 and 2 hour ones who didn't sign up online that automatically were told they were in to see that show at another day. This limited the chances who did sign up for those time slots online. Those that were there since 10 am to noon slots were told to leave. So, to those early birds got screwed. I remember seeing people who didn't even hear about it until the last minute (as in that day and during the 1 and 2 hour slots), and got in. Luck sure but again this limited the luck of others. It started fair but didn't end that way.

We give priority to appointment holders for getting into HQ during the hour, but everyone who gets in gets their name written down and put in the hat. It really is largely a case of some folks having unnervingly good luck, as the names are literally pulled out of a hat and are about as random as things can get, or of folks being dedicated and waiting outside all day in the 90+ degree weather hoping to get let in after the first song or two. There is no grand conspiracy to douche over people who come from far away.
Permalink Reply by Marie Bower on July 7, 2011 at 2:22am I agree my boyfriend and I made two appointments that both got cancelled, we tried to show up early but got shut out anyway because of the clinic Tuesday. We had no chance of seeing the show and we signed up super early we just got screwed over by all the last minute cancellations and yes people that got automatic ins for the next day. Super lame.
I've been an Incubus fan since 1996, when my cousin gave me a tape of some of their songs. Yes I said tape. Not putting the blame on the band, but the people running this thing made it all kinds of f*d up and should have really thought this through before posting time slots and days. Like not remembering 4th of July is a holiday? really it's kind of one of those things like Christmas same day every year people? So all the people that signed up for that day got screwed too. I honestly thought this was going to be a really cool thing (and it was for some people I guess), but my boyfriend had never seen Incubus before and this would have been his first time. Guess at 28 & 25 we are getting too old for this. :/

Permalink Reply by Marisa on July 7, 2011 at 2:55am I agree as well. I was signed up for the 1-2pm clinic and I know for a fact they gave away a spot for the live show to a girl that wasn't even in my time group. I recognized her name because she's a regular who posts on the HQ. I chatted with her on HQ today and she said she was originally signed up for the 12-1pm session and left shortly after 1pm. The raffle for my time group (or so I thought) was called at about 1:55pm, so she was extremely suprised/upset/pissed when I told her that her name had been called for the raffle and that she missed out on a chance to see the show.
There was another guy I talked to when I went to the HQ who had been there for 3 hours! No one had told him to leave after his slot was done and that people were getting passes to the show, even when it wasn't their slot, I mean there were a lot of loopholes. Oh well :(

Permalink Reply by yenly ross on July 7, 2011 at 8:37am Me and my son attended the show last night! It was sooo awesome! We were so close it was a dream come true! They sound so good I was so impressed with everything! I even got to meet Jose and gave him the flame less candle I brought him and he put it next to Ben on the speaker! So cool! This was a highlight of my life and will always be remembered! Thank you Incubus! Love you all!
